Explore the New Features at Play in a 2017 Volkswagen Golf GTI
While most models in Volkswagen's 2017 lineup received changes to finer details, the 2017 Golf GTI sees its latest take usher in plenty of upgrades that will surely have drivers new and old excited to get behind the wheel. The tried and true heart of the GTI continues to be the 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder powertrain, capable of reaching 210-horsepower with 258 pound-feet of torque. This peppy performance translates to an impressive EPA-estimated 34 highway mpg with the 6-speed manual transmission, and 32 highway mpg with the 6-speed DSG automatic. Once you dive inside, it's easier to see where the Golf GTI has truly evolved.
Arriving to our showroom with the base GTI trim, which we've come to know and love, will be the all-new Sport trim. Included in this new spin on the GTI are 18-inch Nogaro aluminum-alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, keyless access and a push-button start - to name a few. Rounding out this offering is the included Standard Performance Package, which adds Golf R brakes and an increase in output of 10-horsepower that brings the engine up to 220-horsepower total. The highest Autobahn trim level brings safety features like Adaptive Cruise Control and Autonomous Emergency Braking to the fold as well, making it a clear favorite among the different options.
Whether you choose to upgrade to a higher trim level or stick with the base model, you'll find an incredibly comfortable interior at your disposal. Front-seat passengers will find the high-quality seat materials to be just to their liking, while the show-stealing 52.7 cubic feet of rear volume is flexible for plenty of storage operations. The 6.5-inch touchscreen acts more like your smartphone than a typical infotainment display, with increased sensors for swiping and pinching gestures to be recognized.
There's plenty of more subtle changes to be found in the new 2017 Golf GTI, so now certainly isn't the time to give it the cold shoulder. Make your way to Tom Wood Volkswagen Noblesville to experience the full potential of the all our new Volkswagen Golf GTI with a test drive. Who knows, you may even like it enough to bring it home for the whole family to enjoy! Either way, come see us at 14701 Tom Wood Way to see what all the hype is about and make a decision for yourself today!
